What if?

Today Lily asked me what would have happened if Gus and Jaq took the stepsister's beads and sash but DIDN'T use them to decorate Cinderella's dress. She picked up on a pretty pivotal moment in the story!

I think tomorrow I'll revisit this with her and we'll see what she says... maybe she'll come up with an alternate ending.

Watching the garbage man

Lily and Lukasz get a great bird's eye view of the garbage truck that picks up our building's garbage every Thursday. (I make sure the window is closed.) They get to see the open top of the truck with all the garbage and then watch it lift the big dumpsters up and over, tipping everything into the open top. It's nice and loud, too!

A morning hike

Today we went to explore a nearby park that our friends Amelia & Sam had told me about. I'm kicking myself that we didn't discover it sooner--it's HUGE, especially for toddler-sized hikes. We'll definitely be going often as long as the sunny weather holds.

One characteristic that Lily has definitely inherited from her Tatus is her curiosity in everything. Or maybe this is just natural toddler curiosity. Either way, she loves to stop in the middle of the trail and check out the dirt, the rocks, the sticks. I've always been the kind to hurry hurry to wherever it is we are hiking to, in this case, a small lake. But together, Lily and Tatus are teaching me to slow down, relax, and enjoy the the little things more.

This is one gnarly tree. hehe. :)

Lily wasn't too impressed with the slugs...

Tatus was fascinated by all the different types of fungus, and tramped off the trail to photograph the different kinds he saw.

I got some nice shots of me and my kiddies. :)
