A morning hike

Today we went to explore a nearby park that our friends Amelia & Sam had told me about. I'm kicking myself that we didn't discover it sooner--it's HUGE, especially for toddler-sized hikes. We'll definitely be going often as long as the sunny weather holds.

One characteristic that Lily has definitely inherited from her Tatus is her curiosity in everything. Or maybe this is just natural toddler curiosity. Either way, she loves to stop in the middle of the trail and check out the dirt, the rocks, the sticks. I've always been the kind to hurry hurry to wherever it is we are hiking to, in this case, a small lake. But together, Lily and Tatus are teaching me to slow down, relax, and enjoy the the little things more.

This is one gnarly tree. hehe. :)

Lily wasn't too impressed with the slugs...

Tatus was fascinated by all the different types of fungus, and tramped off the trail to photograph the different kinds he saw.

I got some nice shots of me and my kiddies. :)
