Do-bla-notes

Tatus and I were just saying "good night" to you, and Tatus switched it up a bit by saying "good night" in Polish. Then he asked you to say "dobranoc" (sounds like do-bra-notes with a rolled "r") to him. I fully expected you to say your trademark "no", but instead you looked at him for about 10 seconds and then slowly said, "do-bla-notes".

SO cute. :)

Drawing

This is the one-sided conversation that took place while the following drawing was made. I live to serve, what can I say.

Lily: "purple candle?"
Mommy draws.
Lily: "orange candle?"
Mommy draws again.
Lily: "tiny orange candle?"
And again.
Lily: "brown candle?"
And again.
Lily: "tiny brown candle?"
And again. Ad infinitum.

Subtle potty training

We've been trying for a while now to get Lily started potty training. At first, she just flat out refused to sit on it, so we left it alone. But recently she's been asking to sit on it. So we take her diaper off and sit her down on it. She likes to have company, so she asks Tatus or I to sit on the big potty, while she sits on hers. She hasn't done anything in the potty yet, but she's willing to sit on it.

To help her take the next step, we bought her a book about a little girl named Prudence who learns to use her potty. Lily likes this story, and she's had me read it to her many times. I've also seen her looking through it on her own... let's hope it works and soon she's making poopie and pee-pee in her own potty. :)

More words every minute

Lily was just eating an apple she started yesterday. I'd left the ziplock bag on the table next to her, and was here on the computer editing photos as she munched on her apple. I heard her say "apple.... 'way" and looked over to find that she had put her apple back in the ziplock bag!!

Now she's eating some cereal, and I heard her say "some. some. SOME." and looked over to see that she was offering me SOME. :) Then she finished what she had and said "more?"

This month has definitely been the month of talking for her.
