A hearty chuckle

Lukasz had his first shower last night. By the sounds of it, his favourite part was getting to rinse off his Tatus.

I don't think there's any sound that's better than a really good baby belly laugh.

Christmas Day afternoon

Christmas afternoon and evening was filled with family, food and gifts. I can't believe I don't have any photos of all the food we ate! Babcia & Ciocia Natalya made some really wonderful goodies!Wujek Daniel played Santa this year, and handed out the gifts that he found under the tree.
Everyone was amazed at how much Lukasz had grown and he was whisked away to be cuddled and played with as soon as we got in the door. Being the happy, outgoing baby that he is, he had no problem with all the attention!

Ciocia Marta helped him open his gifts:

And then helped Lily put together a big puzzle she got from Santa. (Nice hair cut, Lily. :)

Babcia got some perfume, which she's encouraging me to smell here:

Lukasz got a Steve Zissou hat!

A BIG card from Babcia & Dziadek:

This picture makes me laugh: Lukasz got a ride-on airplane car, and it's Tomek and I in the photo looking excited about it!

We inevitably ate too much and went for a walk with Babcia and Lily to help our tummys.
Babcia & Dziadek's house all decorated:
Flop!
This picture makes me laugh, too. Lukasz is such a good sport!
That's better!

Me & 50lbs of kids right there.
Lily loves to walk up Tatus and then flip over. I remember doing this, but I think I was a lot older. Like maybe 5 or 6.

Cozy home in the snow

Gran brought us a couple of very cute decorations for our tree. This one reminds me of Lukasz... it's his first Christmas:And this one reminds me of Lily:
My Opa made these stars; they are made from white paper and string. Such plain materials, but so beautiful on a tree.
More lights, and a garland. Now our living room feels really Christmassy.
Elf, Santa Bear and the reindeer hanging out on our couch.
We came home from the snow in Kelowna to lots of snow here:
Lily and I made mini-snowmen on the balcony:

The snowflakes were landing in perfect condition. My camera was almost up to the challenge of taking a good photo of them.
I showed Lily how to make "smoke" by blowing air out of her mouth.
It cracked her up. :)

Blurry, but too cute.

What's so funny, Woochie?

I don't know what I did to make him laugh here... so often it's a spur-of-the-moment thing that gets him laughing, so I do it again and again and again... and then we are off to do something else and whatever I was doing completely slips my mind.

Ew! Mud!

Our beautiful girlI'm almost positive that the way I got her to laugh and smile in these shots was by saying "Ew! Mud! That's disgusting!" Quoting from a little cartoon about a raccoon named Timothy. His class is running an obstacle course and two characters stop at a mud pit and say that. I've never heard her laugh at anything on tv before, but that cracks her up every time. So now I use it when I'm brushing her teeth, too... so she opens her mouth wide. :)

She loves to play with these little fuzzballs we got in an art set. She plays with them almost everyday, pouring them from one cup or pot or bottle to another. I made her a tube slide for them that is taller than her (I made it out of paper towel and toilet paper rolls). It really is the simplest things that keep the kids the happiest.
Cheesy grin:
And a gorgeous one:
