The kids and I went to the Remembrance Day ceremony today. We left home before 10 a.m. to walk to the cenotaph, and it was COLD and windy. I told the kids that if/when we sang O Canada, they would need to remove their toques. They quietly huddled and shivered their way through two hours of standing in respectful silence (almost without complaining), and during that time, when the call came for the band to play O Canada, my kids whipped their toques off their heads before the music could even begin, and sang with those all around us without prompting. I am SO proud of them.
