What a morning/early afternoon.
From the viewpoint of a mom with a newborn, soothers were a lifesaver. Looking at it from this end, weaning Lukasz off of it, soothers are totally evil.
We started the weaning process by not taking the soother with us when we went out, unless he would be napping while we were out.
This morning, probably some kind of combination stemming from the cold he has, and the soother sucking, I noticed that his upper lip is chapped and a bit swollen. :( So, the soothers went bye bye this morning. I still have them, but they are tucked away where he can't find them, although I have the awful feeling there is a loose one around here somewhere.
Oh how he raged at nap time. He was refusing to nap without a soother and I thought it was going to be a very looong day. I bathed them, and then I put him down again. He cried, and yelled and thumped and screamed, and I let him. By the time I'd finished blow drying Lily's hair, all was quiet. I just checked on him. Yep. Sleeping. But he didn't go down without a fight. And I'd say the bed linen lost.
