I'm having to just accept that we will not see very much of him, and I'm getting into the swing of even longer days with the kids. I wouldn't swap it for anything, but sometimes I feel I'm falling short of providing new and fun things for us to do. But then again, sometimes a quiet day at home is all they need and want.
This evening has sailed along very smoothly - we went to the spray park and the pool, came home, had ham and cheese wraps and watermelon for dinner, showered off the sunscreen and chlorine from the park, we ALL cleaned up the toys and books, and then got all interested in their books, so it's quiet reading time now till Tom gets home. Then we will brush their teeth and he will read them some bedtime stories and sing them songs.
It's a pretty perfect, peaceful moment. And I'm relishing it. (But, yes, I am ignoring the dishes, laundry and editing that needs to be done.)
