Last weekend involved a lot of driving. The kids are amazing in the car, probably thanks to road trips to Oregon and Kelowna since they were very young. Add to that, they have their favourite music and many stories that I've recorded for them on our mp3 player, and most drives are a breeze.
On one particular drive last weekend, Lily had tired of the music and wanted it off. We were stuck at another red light, beside a fire station. I asked her to tell me what was in the building. A simple question, a mom's desperate attempt to create a little distraction for her child from the very long car ride.
She replied: "A fire truck. Now, tell me why the sky is blue."
