A trip to Sunset Beach in Vancouver

The weather was so beautiful this weekend... and I am so glad we made it happen to go on an outing both on Saturday and Sunday. Today was especially special because it was the first time we took Lily and Lukasz to the beach in Vancouver. I know, we should have done this lots this summer, but I'm continually amazed at what a challenge it can be to get a family of four out of the house during good weather and without interfering with nap time or meal time. Seems the moment we are ready to leave it's time for someone to eat or sleep or someone needs their diaper changed.

This weekend, however, everything went pretty smoothly and we got away to Sunset Beach:First we went for a nice walk with the kids in the stroller...


... then we spent the rest of our time on the beach. Lily went barefoot and had a lot of fun. :)





Not quite used to the sand between her toes yet:
I asked her to say "cheese" so I could take a picture of her with the beach behind her, and instead, she turned her back to me. I think I managed to turn it into a nice shot anyway. :)

Lily built sand castles and collected rocks and shells, got her pants wet in the water. Lukasz ate and was a good sport even though we couldn't let him down to play in the sand because he grabs whatever is near by and puts it in his mouth.
